STRENGTH  LEADERSHIP ACCOUNTABILITY

Dear Carson Voter,

Thank you for giving me the privilege of serving you as  your councilman for the last six years.

When you are elected to a city council you have the unique opportunity of serving the community where you chose to live and raise your family. Your constituents are your neighbors and friends and all of you have shared interest to make your city the best it can be.

Carson has seven elected officials they include the city clerk, city treasurer, mayor, and four council members. The mayor and four council members make up your governing body.

Carson’s mayor doesn’t have special powers and can’t veto any council decision or break a tie vote. He/she has one vote equal to the other four council member .  However the mayor should possess sound leadership qualities  and demonstrate those skills at all levels.

During the current Mayor’s term of office, there has been turmoil throughout the city and unnecessary tension on the city council.

Because of these problems and due to the encouragement of so many of you, plus the blessing of my family, I have decided to seek election to the office of mayor. I hope I will be able to count on your continued support and your vote.

It is my sincere belief that respect must start at the top and be extended to everyone, but it must begin with the Mayor setting the example.

In closing I again ask for your vote.
